If you’re in my part of the world, you just might be a bit snowed in right now and thinking how nice it would be to get away to somewhere warmer.
Perennial favorite Cancun has a pretty good remedy for anyone sick of the snow. Over the past few months, public and private investment has resulted in more than one billion gallons of fresh sand being added to the beaches here (as well as in nearby Cozumel and Playa del Carmen).
In keeping with the fast-approaching Valentine’s Day holiday, I recently wrote an article about “Five Ways to Say ‘I Love You’ in Cancun” for Explore, the inflight magazine for TACA, one of Latin America’s largest airlines. Even if you arrive long after the pink hearts and creamy chocolates have disappeared from the room service trays, you still might find some inspiration in that article.
In addition, I’ve uncovered a couple seasonal specials at two Cancun resorts where I’ve especially enjoyed staying:
Sun Palace: The early spring savings promotion at this attractive adults-only all-inclusive means that you’ll get $20 off new bookings when you reserve three or more nights through April 27.
Me Cancun: This hip beach resort, which hosted the 22nd season of MTV’s “The Real World,” is offering an “adults-only month” through the end of February that includes three-for-the-price-of-two guest rates, mixology workshops, pool parties and after parties.
