About an hour by boat from Cartagena, Colombia, lies the Islas del Rosario (Rosario Islands). These tiny specks of land offer a scenic getaway for locals and visitors alike, with their sun-soaked Caribbean beaches and variety of water-based activities, including diving, snorkeling and swimming.
During a recent visit to Cartagena as a guest at the beachfront Holiday Inn Cartagena Morros hotel, I took a day trip to Islas del Rosario spent a few sunny hours at Hotel San Pedro de Majagua, a small property where day visitors can sit on the beach, and join activities including an open-air aquarium on a nearby island — check out my shark-feeding aquarium video here — and have lunch (I recommend the fresh seafood). Here are a few photos from my most recent visit.
