The Michelin Green Guide to Colombia is the company’s first dedicated to an entire South American nation. |
There was lots of news to come out of Colombia last week during the nation’s annual tourism fair in Bogota (check out my article about Bogota’s hotel boom in Latin Business Chronicle).
But for all the tourism and hotel investment that’s pouring into this South American hotspot, one of the announcement that warranted the biggest press conference was the debut of the Michelin Green Guide to Colombia, which is the first time that Michelin has devoted an entire book to an entire South American nation.
Proexport, the organization that promotes tourism to Colombia, did provide support to bring the book to fruition (and their logo is emblazoned on an inside page). But it’s still a finely detailed travel guide that provides a fresh alternative to existing guides to Colombia — and, according to the nation’s tourism experts, it’s a sign that Colombia is indeed coming into its own as a destination.
Stay tuned for more of my coverage of what’s hot in Bogota!
