During my most recent trip to Mexico City, I was a guest at the Hilton Mexico City Reforma, an upscale high-rise hotel in Mexico‘s capital. Here’s a review of my experience.
THE STYLE: Located across the street from Parque Alameda, the attractive park between Paseo de la Reforma avenue and the Centro Historico (the historic city center), the Hilton Mexico City Reforma combines the advantages of extensive amenities and a very central location, with the added bonus of often-breathtaking impressive views of the city. Service is polite and attentive, and the staff seems adept at serving the needs of both business and leisure travelers.

THE GUEST ROOM: We stayed in room 2501, an amazing, Executive Level 25th-floor suite with an interesting angular layout that provided spectacular views of Parque Alameda, the Torre Latinoamericana (Latin American Tower), the Palacio de Bellas Artes (the city’s most important historic performance center) and even the distant mountains. The suite features a comfortable living room with work desk, coffee maker, fully stocked mini-bar, a dining area, and a wide span of windows. The bedroom, accessed via a pair of sliding doors, has a large TV, king-size bed, separate climate controls, safe-deposit box. The bathroom is one of the most magnificent things about this suite; the spacious wash area has twin sinks, and shower and water closet stalls, but the most eye-catching part is the wedge-shaped Jacuzzi/bath area, which looks out over the city and has dramatic lighting that make it into a special retreat after dark. Bath amenities are by Peter Thomas Roth. WiFi was extremely reliable and free throughout the hotel.
Also impressive is the 26th-floor Executive Lounge — our room included access to this VIP expansive area, which is offers equally breathtaking views of Mexico City (the lounge also provides speedy VIP check-in and checkout for guests on the Executive Levels). Set up something like an airline club, the lounge has several different seating areas, including tables and couches, as well as glass-enclosed meeting rooms that provide ideal meeting space for small gatherings. The lounge serves an ample breakfast buffet with hot and cold food, as well as equally generous afternoon hors d’ouevres (hot and cold) and drinks.

Business travelers can make use of the business center and 45,000 square feet of meeting and event space (the property bills itself as the only hotel in Mexico City with a two-story convention center).
