During my most recent visit to Mexico City, I flew Interjet, one of Mexico‘s largest low-cost airlines, to and from New York City. This airline offers flights to Mexico from several U.S. cities, as well as from Central America and Colombia. Here is a report of my travel experience.
THE ROUTE: Mexico City Benito Juárez International Airport (MEX) to New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), Airbus A320, economy class.

THE MEXICO CITY AIRPORT: Interjet operates out of Terminal 1 at the Mexico City airport. I had to wait about 15 minutes to check in, and I was allowed to check two bags for free (there is a limit of 10 kilos for carry-on luggage). The gate was not crowded. Boarding was by section, starting with people traveling with children and people who needed assistance, then boarding from the back to the front of the aircraft.

THE INTERJET AIRCRAFT: The Interjet Airbus A320 which they sometimes call a Superjet) has one-class, all-economy seating. No blankets, pillows or earphones were distributed (on my flight from New York City to Mexico City, they did hand out earphones), but I could use my own earphones.
