Mexico is known for its exquisite cuisine. And while ice cream isn’t necessarily the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Mexican food, it may jump up a few notches in your list after you try one very tasty brand that’s served in Guadalajara.
What’s especially cool is that not only is this Mexican ice cream delicious, but it also just might be the most efficiently served, thanks to a unique and fast-paced service system. I was surprised and delighted with my experience at Nieves de Garrafa Chapalita, an ice cream shop with multiple branches in the Guadalajara area. I was so impressed, in fact, that I made an unfiltered travel video to showcase the great service.

MEXICO TRAVEL TIPS: How to Ride the New Guadalajara Metro Line 3 (TRAVEL VIDEO)

If you’re planning a Mexico vacation and looking for tasty things to do in Guadalajara, you should pay a visit to Nieves de Garrafa Chapalita, an ice cream shop with multiple branches in the Guadalajara area. This is some of the best Mexican ice cream I’ve ever head — it’s rich but not too rich (something in between the less fatty style of most Mexican ice cream, but not as heavy and overpowering as U.S. brands like Haagen Dazs), and comes in a specularly diverse array of flavors — including classics like chocolate and vanilla as well as plantain, mango and even Ferrero, Bailey’s and Kit Kat!
The service is part of the experience, especially at the shop in the tourist-popular Tlaquepaque area. The lines can be long, but the white-booted staff are so fast and efficient that you barely spend any time waiting. They’ve got quite an efficient process in place, and the lightning-fast service is just one more reason to try out this ice cream, which is a perfect complement to the delicious Mexican food served at nearby restaurants.
