Star Power: Actress Eva Longoria brought stopped to smile at the Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay in Mazatlan. |
Hollywood celebrities have long had a love affair with Mexico vacations (remember those old photographs of movie stars from the 1960s?). Nowadays, big-name actors are less likely to pose for publicly released photographs during their Mexico trips. So it’s refreshing to see the actress Eva Longoria in these shots with her beau Eduardo Cruz, during their recent vacation in Mazatlan.
According to tourism officials, the couple spent a weekend vacationing in this beautiful Pacific coast resort city, staying at the Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay resort and immersing themselves in Mazatlan’s rich culture, fabulous cuisine and warm hospitality. The two strolled the gorgeously restored streets of Old Mazatlan, stopping at charming shops, outdoor cafes and art galleries, as well as the 19th-century cathedral and iconic Angela Peralta Theater (one of my favorite places in the city) before hitting the beach along Mazatlan’s oceanfront malecon boardwalk. The pair also joined the state governor for dinner, enjoying some of the fresh seafood that this city is known for (it’s a major shrimp port, by the way).
Now if only stars would revive the old practice of posing as they get off airplanes — it would be like the jet-set days all over again.
Mazatlan is unique in more ways than one. Check out my VIDEO about pulmonías, the city’s most enjoyable form of public transportation. Part taxi, part overgrown golf cart, these quirky vehicles offer great views and lots of fresh ocean breezes!
